The FEGGA Scholarship

Careers in Golf Course Management have become increasingly popular and as a result more education courses have become available which will enhance the individuals. The challenge is finding suitable practical Greenkeeping work experience to complement this formal education.

FEGGA in association with Polaris World and Ransomes Jacobsen have put together what we believe is the perfect opportunity for a greenkeeper to gain practical experience along with a well structured lecture programme that will have a long-term benefit to any Greenkeeper at the end of the year.

Education has to be the key to all associations and indeed greenkeepers in achieving the highest level of professionalism within our industry and therefore greater recognition within the game of golf.

FEGGA’s role with formal education has been to set the standards and have recently launched an initiative to create Pan European Standards, leading to the launch of the European Greenkeeping Education Unit (EGEU). The EGEU has now produced standards on 3 levels and will through its work be able to assist Countries with guidance on all aspects of formal greenkeeping education.

Continuous learning is a very important part of day to day learning and FEGGA provides support in this area through advice and also its Roadshow events that have now been operated in some 12 Countries over the past six years.

FEGGA also has a speaker bank that offers its Members Associations contact with a range of speaker’s world-wide covering industry learning presentations.

FEGGA also offers a specialised greenkeeping Scholarship programme, run each year in association with Polaris World and Ransomes Jacobsen for aspiring greenkeepers wanting to become Golf Course Managers of the future.
