International “Thank a Golf Course Greenkeeper/Superintendent Day” is coming on September 13th to honour golf course management professionals
Celebrate the day with support using social media by using #ThankASuper or #ThankAGreenkeeper
The Federation of European Greenkeepers Associations (FEGGA), in conjunction with other global Greenkeeper Associations, is recognising those who help keep golf courses enjoyable and sustainable with an international “Thank a Golf Course Greenkeeper/Superintendent Day,” encouraging all those who love golf to thank their course’s greenkeeper/superintendent. “Thank a Golf Course Greenkeeper/Superintendent Day” 2022 will be celebrated Sept. 13, which is also GCSAA’s 96th anniversary.
In addition to FEGGA, other associations taking part in the global event include FEGGA’s 22 Greenkeeper Association Members, The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) the Australia Sports Turf Managers Association (ASTMA), the Canadian Golf Superintendents Association (CGSA). All together the associations represent more than 31,000 golf course management professionals in 78 countries around the world.
The celebration will include a commercial that will appear on the Golf Channel and other media outlets and social media messages promoting the many ways that greenkeepers/superintendents benefit the game and their communities’. Golfers, and others are encouraged to join in the conversation on social media using the hashtags “#ThankASuper” or “#ThankAGreenkeeper” depending on their country’s nomenclature. In addition, golf courses and other groups are encouraged to provide special recognition for their superintendent and course maintenance staff on September 13th.
During the 2021 Thank A Golf Course Greenkeeper/Superintendent day, social media messages reached more than 9 million followers around the world.
