DLF is a global seed company dealing in forage and amenity seeds, and other crops, with a 50% market share in Europe and 30% worldwide.
Science develops better seeds
Today greenkeepers demand a lot from the grasses they use on their golf courses. Good playability is a necessity, but greenkeepers are also emphasizing the importance of a sustainable golf course, disease tolerant turf and turf that requires a lower input of e.g. water, fertiliser and pesticides. To meet these demands DLF invests heavily in research and innovation. Roughly 11% of our 2000 employees are involved in research. We run plant-breeding programs and trial sites across the world in Europe, USA and New Zealand to test our grass varieties in order to produce resilient and wear tolerant varieties. This way we can provide locally adapted varieties that make every golf course perform at the highest standard.
Seeding green solutions
Golf courses are highly exposed to climate changes. For more than 30 years, DLF breeding and product development has optimized and developed varieties ideal to local climatic and environmental conditions. In recent years, golf courses have experienced pressure in the use of pesticides. Many already experience restrictions and others may see them coming in the future. By increasing resilience to changing factors such as disease pressure and other type of stress, DLF breed to meet the requirements for the future. Through dedicated plant breeding, our breeders are delivering sustainable solutions for more sustainable golf courses

Given our warming climate, reliance on rainfall places clubs at risk. When every drop counts Rain Bird helps clubs tackle water management and drive down the cost of ownership over the 25-year lifespan of an irrigation system. With Rain Bird as your irrigation partner, savings in power, labour, consumables and water deliver short and long-term ROI.
Coming soon – CirrusPRO™, mobile-first management software that will be a game changer for golf course irrigation. Delivering more freedom, complete control and better data, you can be first to receive more information about the launch of this exciting industry innovation by registering here.
Rain Bird is the world-leader in irrigation. Founded in 1933, the company manufactures the industry’s broadest range of irrigation products for golf courses, sports arenas, agriculture, commercial developments and homes in more than 130 countries. It offers a fully-integrated, end-to-end approach from reservoir to rotor. Dedicated and skilled golf sector staff work in partnership with architects, specifiers, club owners, managers, contractors and greenkeepers delivering new system, system extension and renovation solutions at courses of all types and sizes.
Rain Bird is committed to The Intelligent Use of Water™. Its Central Control Systems enable continuous two-way communication between the operator and all aspects of the irrigation system, allowing the software to continuously monitor and automatically optimise its performance. The course benefits from improved playability and agronomic health, while the customer saves money by minimising water and energy usage and reducing labour costs.
The launch of the IC System™ heralded a new era in irrigation technology. Simple and expandable, with no satellites, hubs (so 90% less wire), or decoders, it revolutionised the way water is managed on golf courses. It continuously monitors and optimises system performance, saving time and water. With real-time feedback, course managers have total control and can troubleshoot in minutes for complete peace of mind. All Rain Bird technologies are simple to operate. Clubs report having the IC System is equivalent to an extra member of staff.
Every golf course is different, but Rain Bird’s unique hybrid system solution suits almost all situations. There’s a huge financial advantage in carefully phasing renovations as it’s less disruptive to play, with costs and renovation work spread out over a longer period. Areas can be altered or extended, and holes upgraded to an IC System while one Central Control System operates both the upgraded areas and the remaining decoders.
Every Rain Bird golf product is engineered with Timeless Compatibility™ in mind, allowing customers to have a state-of-the-art irrigation system that can be updated or changed without existing equipment becoming obsolete. The Rain Bird Central Control is designed to work with any existing product installed previously as well as with all future technologies. Any Rain Bird irrigation system can be upgraded. Technologies from the 1980’s right up to the present day – satellite (hard wired), satellite decoder, decoder and IC – can be upgraded independently and controlled from the same central control software on one PC.

Driven by Innovation – Judged by Results.
These are not just words. This is how we run our business. TurfCare are constantly on the lookout for the latest innovation in products and technology and when we find something, we assess how it works, its reliability, and how it can be used to help turf managers deal with their daily challenges to produce and maintain their playing surfaces to the best possible standards.
While it may be easy to bring new products and ideas to the market, it is the results that these products produce is what we are measured by. We are the best at what we do, and we look after our people and the needs of our customers. We are a strong team that continue to grow, and we are slowly but steadily becoming the ‘go to’ people in our industry.
We are environmentally conscious, and we work hard to provide a secure and sustainable future for our staff, our customers, and our industry. We have links and partnerships with some of the most influential, knowledgeable and well known doctors and scientists in our industry. With these connections, we are able to provide the end user with up to date research, data and technical training / education in order to ensure that they get ‘best value’ for their purchases.
Our global connections, and also having offices in both Europe and the UK, enable us to service a wider spectrum of clients throughout a wider geographical area wherever possible.
Anyone can supply a bag or a can of fertilizer. It’s the ingredients, the research, the knowledge, and the technical support that makes all the difference. This is the ‘TurfCare factor’. TurfCare cares.

Symbio is one of Europe’s leading companies in terms of sales, international distribution and product range in the field of microbial additives for plant growth. The Symbio brand is recognised throughout northern Europe and the Company have pioneered the use of microbes to improve plant growth and soil quality since 1992.
Symbio is a specialised supplier of products that work with the natural biology of soil. The use of inorganic fertilisers and pesticides serve to override natural growth and often result in poor soil and weak, chemical dependent plants and crops.
Symbio specialises in selecting and applying the mycorrhizae, soil bacteria and fungi, and the organisms found in a healthy soil food web to help their clients to grow strong, healthy, nutritious plants with minimal use of inorganic fertilisers and pesticides in cost effective IPM programmes.
Symbio’s products contain naturally occurring soil bacteria, fungi and Mycorrhizae (meaning fungus root). Mycorrhizae are a group of about 400 fungi that form symbiotic relationships with plants. They live in or on the roots, extend their hyphae into the soil and make phosphate, nitrogen other nutrients and water available to the host plant. They extend the effective root area many hundreds of times so plants grow faster, larger and stronger with less fertiliser and water.
Healthy perennial grasses grow in biologically active soil to benefit from natural defence mechanisms against disease, dry patch and thatch build up and are inoculated with mycorrhizae to access nutrients and water. Symbio provides the correct combination of microbiology in the form of mycorrhizal, fungal and bacterial inoculants, microbial organic and inorganic fertilisers and biostimulants for fine grass growth with fewer chemicals, less disease, physical disruption, management time and cost.
Soil is at the heart of a healthy planet, and soil conservation is key to feeding our growing population. The soil beneath our feet is teeming with life. This soil biology drives the nutrient cycles that feed our plants. Too often these natural systems are disrupted by our management practices. The over use of inorganic fertilisers and pesticides degrade the soil biology and impede healthy plant growth.
Symbio specialises in restoring life to your soil. For over 30 years the company has researched and perfected ways to reintroduce soil biology to degraded soils. Working with academic and commercial partners Symbio has developed a product range to suit a variety of different environments. Using beneficial soil bacteria, mycorrhizal fungi and other microorganisms in the soil food web, Symbio products help our customers to grow strong, healthy and nutritious plants, with minimal input of inorganic fertilisers and pesticides. Our customers are at the heart of our business and our products provide solutions to the key problems they face. Symbio harnesses the benefits of nature and resolves poor soil health, by restoring the soil food web and providing cost effective management programs.
Belrobotics of Belgium is behind the very concept of robotised mowing, making it a reality back in 1990, some 30 years ago. Using the same principles, we later developed a golf ball-picking robot.
We are now a subsidiary of the Yamabiko Group, the owner of famous brands Echo, Shindaiwa and others, with our robots working by the thousands all over Europe and beyond, mowing-mulching golf courses, but also football fields, rugby, hippodromes, parks, manors…
Want to take a view? Just contact us and we will send you the details of a nearby equipped venue. Or, better still, ask us for a six-week, full-scale demo at your own venue and see for yourself the difference our unique floating cutting heads can make.
The benefits of Robot-mowing include:
1. Turf looks superb
2. At least 50% savings compared to conventional solutions
3. Day and night operation (ball-proof up to 200 km/h)
4. Optimised labour
5. Quiet operation
6. 90% less CO₂ emissions
Robotised ball-picking benefits
Our Ballpicker brings the opportunity to complete the automation process upstream, i.e. from range to technical room, on to ball dispenser. Our partners can also take care of drop pit and tubing installation.
Our ball-picking robots can handle an average of 15,000 balls per 24 hours.
